So, yeah. :D Anyway, in other news. I've signed up for fantasyprone's Winter NaNoWriMo thing, set up at winterwriting. Because November really does suck by way of exams. So it'll be 50k words from June to July 26th. And... hm. Yesterday, kicked off with 1808 words of the final scene, so I don't know. xD Logical progression's not so much my thing, but it'll be fine.

Oh. :D And I installed some Windows update or something, and-- it took out my wireless. :D Not like the usual, "Damn, no signal." kind of took out my wireless, but like: "...umm, why does it say I have no bluetooth capabilities?" kind of took out my wireless. The light doesn't change from red even if I manually flick the outside switch, and the checkboxes are stuck on gray in the control panel. =v= Which is just lovely, really. Would be surprised, but Kandabot has always failed at the internets, so. It's not even really annoying. |D Will go ask daddy about it when he's not working.

Speaking of Fire Beat though, it is probably my most-watched JE performance/song/PV/clip/thing ever, over time. D: In that, I'm still watching it on a regular basis. Unlike weeeek, or Real Face, or Kitto Daijoubu/Sakura Sake/We Can Make It! (all of which I adore to bits also). Sort of feels ridiculously pathetic, given the... choreography, but well. 8D At least it's not ~~Yabai Yabai Yabai~~ worse.

so like. xD; today marks the first time i fell off the scooty. roughly 11:30pm, maybe give a few minutes. riding back from youth group, down high street road, pretty much deserted. traffic lights went orange, and i INTELLIGENTLY hit the brakes instead of gunning the throttle (TO GO FASTER) like i usually do, and uh. xD since it was spitting a bit, traction was not fantastic, and really, i should've jumped the light in hindsight, but two weeks ago i did that and saw a flash, and pretty sure i got booked if they got a clear photo but uhhh. xD anyway. should've this time, aside. the scooter went sideways and so did i. |D thunked down on right shoulder, right foot squished under scooty, but no biggie, since i was braking anyway. trackies didn't even tear. :x got up and picked up scooty (it's... not half as heavy as i thought it should be, aha.) and some nice guy turning in from the other road slowed to ask if i was okay. :D and yeah. so i'm fine. but arm is a bit sore, so excuse the lack of bothering to type right. |D

all in all, so far just the arm, yoinked my neck, and a bruise on knee and foot. my boot got a full-on dent in it. and reeks of petrol... so tomorrow i'll go out and have a look at the damage to the scooty itself. |D oops. noticed the petrol gauge was empty when i got home, when it should've been at least a quarter, if not a half tank. right mirror was swinging with the wind, so i guess i'll find a spanner for that. or take it in to service, if necessary. |D; harhar, dear me. ♥

that aside, have come to the conclusion that there -is- something chemically wrong with my brain in the fear side. |D in that -- i don't feel it. there's no stress about deadlines, getting lost, missing planes that i've paid for, being late to exams, drunk old men touching my chest and putting safety pins in scarves i'm wearing, and... a lot things that perhaps should... something. often, can't really tell if something hurts or should hurt properly. came off the scooty at an intersection, and what. no stress either, nothing so much as a raise in heart-rate. (i've been thinking this for a while, so was conscious to note it after the fact -- and yeah. no nothing. there've been a few other incidents, too. lost control of the practise scooter whilst at a learners lesson and stuff; shot through classmates doing laps and over to the other half of the track that we weren't using.) on the flipside, almost nothing is interesting or exciting. but it's always been like that, so oh well. ♥ guess it's better than being freaked out all the time. *madam calm* ;D

anyway, i ~~might sleep now~~ still smell petrol, so i'mma go have another shower, then sleep and see if the arm doesn't hurt by morning, wahaha. |D goodnight, people <3 :D and keep safe! ;D

:D :D :D Scooty is fantastic. (My numberplate is GO・494... xD) Though, uh. Today was the first time I went riding in a high temperature, and... leather is not waterproof. :D; Which is probably a good thing, or I'd have been running rivulets of sweat down my legs (GROSS, GROSS, GROSS). (See, I actually got some decent gear because despite my confidence, I am weak against odds and fully expect to either have an accident or fall of said scooty sometime within the year. :3 Oh wells <3) Scooty, scooty, scooty. ♥ Well, the only thing I haven't done yet are corners sharper than 90*, or U-turns (which, really, are a subcategory)...

Tomorrow is my day off uni <3 ...which means errands. xD; Oh well. ♥ Scooty, ahaha.

Spotlight had 20% off everything today, so I went over and bought five metres of bright orange drill drill for a starfighter flight suit. xD It is going to be v. f. hilarious. The flak vest (white thing) will be tedious, but que sera... (Really, I want to 'play one of the Twi'lek pilots -- more likely Wraith Squadron's Diap'assik, but uh. 8D; I think the headtails would sort of be tough on short notice. :| All the tutes I've looked up so far speak of pantyhose and copious amounts of latex. If not clay and weird, weird injecting techniques that sort of make me squeamish despite their inanimate status.

Earlier, actually, I lied. :3 I'd been re-reading books 5~7 of the X-Wing series (Wraith Squadron, Iron Fist, and Solo Command respectively). And if there are any to read, it is those three. Aaron Allston (books 5-7, 9) vs Michael A. Stackpole (1-4, 8) is... um.

Stackpole's writing tries very blatantly to be clever. xD; Ending remarks and stuff that people would not actually say, for how much they'd look like a tool if they did. His technical writing, though, is fantastic. :D;; I'd recommend him if you're the kind who has tiny X-Wing/TIE /Interceptor models and likes to play out the actual scenes and dogfights and stuff. It's there in all the nitty-gritty. xD; Sometimes it's tedious. There's a lot of detail.

Allston's dogfights and descriptions are a little more fluid, running faster, glossing over a bit more; you still get the point, just without seeing all the pebbles in the stream. It's his characters, however, really come alive -- relative to Stackpole's. In the series, Stackpole mainly writes the Rogues -- and while he does go into their histories and developments, his writing suits the fact that, more than anything, they are a symbol of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic. It's almost impersonal. Of course, the nature of his characters are also that kind -- they're polished; the best of the best.

Wraith Squadron (Allston's) is... the direct opposite of that. They're the worst of the tragic, and... it's more about the squad dynamics, pilot development and relations than anything. Their personal issues, and etc. xD Allston sort of loses at subtlety when it comes to the romantic aspect, but uhhh. It's not a main theme/big thing, so whatever. The friendships and bonds he builds for them are fantastic. (And his practical jokes win ridiculous and kooki.) Aaand... this geekery had no point, so it will stop now. 8Dv

If Allston'd written the Rogues, I think I'd be a very, very happy fangirl, but at the same time it's probably just as well that he didn't. xD; Who knows. ;;;

well, not really but I'M FEELING CHIPPER TODAY, SO THERE. Allow me a moment to brag: fastest for the written test, score: 32/32. Top of the practical test; longest slow-ride: 26 seconds for 18 metres, down a 1-metre-wide lane, without losing balance. ;Dv Oh, yeah. (The record for anybody on a scooter was 35 seconds. :3 Wasn't going to beat it, but was a good eight seconds over the next best in my group. ♥

Fact stands that despite this, I have no scooter yet. And no gear either. :3 Expecting to expend ~$5k all up in the next few days on these financial endeavours, hurhurhur. HERE IS HOPING I DO NOT CRASH SOMETHING AND DIE! :D \:D/ You are like, 15 times more likely to die on a two-wheeler on the road, than in a car. Or something like that! ♥

I've had to wait for two delayed trains since getting back from Japan. Now. Big whoop. This wouldn't usually annoy me, except for two facts: (a) while I was away, fares were raised (by, what. 10%?); and (b) since getting back, I've only caught the fsking train three times.

Ah, well... for better or worse, and to the detriment of my other as-yet nonexistent job applications, I will be going back to uni. \o/ The lady was really nice, and told me about her nephew(?? I don't remember..) who went to teach English in Spain. Oh, yes. Anyway.

This year, it's... Chinese. *roflsmack*

Really, I will be doing... CHI1010 (aka. chinese 101), MKF1120 (aka. marketing 101) in semester one. Then, AFF3431 (the one i failed last time), AFF2851 (...financial modeling. god help), AFF2491 (...company reporting. *ditto*), and CHI1020 in semester two. Ah, my first year business is 50% assignment, and 50% exam... ♥ So easy. It makes me happy.

Should have course finished in two years. As for the Arts major, it'll be either two more Language units, or two second/third year Studies... next year. I can decide that later this year. There are also two more electives...

Ah, really... the lady was very nice. And her nailpolish was all different colours. I should have bought her Roses after all...

Actually later, I somehow got on the wrong train. Caulfield station is a little confusing. (<-lies.) So I ended up in Moorabbin, but then. On the way back to Caulfield again, I offered my seat to this geriatric, as you do. But then he said, "I'm fine! Just one stop!" And kept standing by the door, so I put my earbuds back in and sat down again. But then he came over again, and I "Buh??" -- he winked and said, "What I really need is a glass of beer and two dancing girls!"

Turns out I had pants after all. 8D;; Karen washed them, after I'd left for Malaysia -- but then hung them up in her closet (where the space heater is), left them there, and... never said anything. 8D;;; SO I'M NOT AS MUCH OF A LOSER AS SOMETIMES I THINK I AM, HURHUR.

Anyway. :x NewS were fantastic <3

I'm not the kind of person who's into music for the sake of music. 8D; But I love funny, retarded shit. What I like about Johnny's is that they're not artists or singers (..durh, because half of them can't) so much as entertainers and actors. They all have a "type" or "character" that they play, and they act it, beyond themselves. xD; And they're all aware of it. ("MOU YADA YO, KONO CHARACTER!!" --Shige, who sometimes hates being the Smart/Underloved one.)

Shige... Shige is definitely a stage actor, more than anything. xD; His bodylanguage and face are way too expressive for the small screen, imo. But we were just a handful of rows from the back of the stadium (Tokyo Dome? 55,000 people) -- he was half the size of a matchstick on stage, but his miniskit about what happens when you turn on the shower in winter and jump back, because OH MY GOD COLD WATER was still lollerskatey. :x ♥

They sang a bit of Dreams (♥♥); most of their old songs were like, a verse and chorus only. Daite Senorita. Hell, even Nande x2 Dame. xD;; Wtf, that song. Tegomass did Kiss~Kaerimichi. Change the World -- dear god, the rap. xD xD

AND THEN SHIGE DID "HAPPY SONG" -- SOLO! -- WITH HIS BLACK GUITAR AND PRINCESS CROWN. <-and it fell off by the end, since he doesn't have his long hair anymore, lolol. I was so amused. 8D;; Chirarizumu, pimp style, as opposed to dorky? xD; The tinted lenses just don't work so well. Koyama did KKKitty's Private Hearts. Sort of sad they didn't do Alibi, though. :D; Oh wellz.

Tegoshi solo'd Ai Nante and fully owned it. that was the only part of the show where nothing was flashing, or sparkling, or shooting water up into the air. Just a junior dancing on a pier, and Tegoshi with a microphone stand. 8D;; His live voice is sort of amazing.

Stand Up! was really hightension. 8D The ones that involve the audience shouting and dancing and crap were my favourites. xD;; Stand Up! and Sayaendo ("omae no fune wo mamorun da--" "SHIGE!!"), and -- the ones with all the stupid dances, that you can be amazed by the SEA OF PENLIGHTS moving in synch. Teppen. Kibou~Yell. Hoshi wo Mezashite would be the classic example. :D; (It was beautiful, as usual. :D;; ♥)

They also sang Mafuyu and Kimi Omo(f)u Yoru. Nanto Kanaru Sa, Massu backed up by Shige and Ryo. Pi's Gomen Juliet solo -- dear god. xD; He ripped open his shirt and was like, gyrating in the middle of the arena (center stage, as opposed to the front)-- and then water shot up around him and it was like oh my god. xD; xD; The fangirls went psycho.

Um. Akaku. Cherish. Snow Express -- the dance to which was seriously cute. 8D;; In pairs, they turned in this like, 90-degree pattern and stepped/reached out and; uhh. It's hard to explain. xD; Need to wait for the bloody DVD. *WANTSES* 8DD; Ryo's Code was... well. |D On the one hand, it's a lot more passionate, live. On the other, the -- dramatic pauses and stuff didn't quite work? 8D But it was still fantastic. xD xD; The pacific live rendition was better than the Never Ending Wonderful Story one by far.

Ai no Matador was apparently "very hot" according to others, but I don't remember it. xD; Already. Laaawl, my memory for nonsequenced things is shoddy. News NIPPON was still sad, without Kusano. :< "Put your hands up in the air! Put your hands up, in the air!"

And of course, they opened with Weeeek. xD; And encored with it, too. Poor Shige. :D; His part in that song is entirely too low for his live vocal range; he ganbatted so hard, though. :D;;

Massu was probably the best, purely live. xD; Ryo and Pi are fantastic as well, but they work best when there are cameras on their faces and stuff -- they were most funny/sexy/wtf-inducing on the big screens. 8D; Massu was just, pure, unadulterated energy and cute. xD;; The Nanto Kanaru dance was eklfhygaahdorable. You can tell he's smiling from like, many, many metres away.

Speaking of -- well, nothing. 8D But, RANDOMLY: the stage was whoa. xD;; it spelled out N E W S and pier'd out into the audience, and also upwards into the lights and screens. It lit up, too. 8D; And had waterworks. (Front stage and centre platform.) No flying, because it is nono in Tokyo Dome, but STILL AWESOME. 8D; (At other venues, I do believe Massu (at least) was on skates and flyingwires. xD; Lolol.) +They rode carts a la the 2007-08 Countdown. It was funny.

At one stage, Shige wanted to toss one of those signature boards that they always do, out into the audience. But then the nets got in the way and he made this. {:(-crossed->:{ face... xD; He's hilarious. (And when the front stage glided out above the audience, he sat at the edge, dangling his feet. Over the aisles. The fangirls probably terrify him. xD; Poor kid. Everybody else was like, hanging off the side of the moving piece of stage, or reaching over and stuff. xD; xD;)

And at the end, Ryo threw his shirt into the audience. 8D; And ran down the aisles. But then some crazy fangirls on the ground floor broke through the barriers, and security had a fit. xD; And after that, he stayed up on stage. xD (And somehow acquired a second tee, but didn't put it on. :x)

--we got there, uh. Early. Entered the Dome when gates opened at 4pm. xD;; Karen bought an uchiwa from the girl(?) we'd bought our tickets from, as she'd waited in line since an hour ago. 8D; (For the back stall. The big front stall had a three hour queue. <-!!? x_X) She'd asked for a clearfile, but ended up with an uchiwa. GIANT PIC OF RYO'S FACE, IN YOUR FACE, HOHOHO. 8D

Actually, the Dome special uchiwas had this shiny silver back -- Koyama totally spazzed out on stage about how, "WAAAH, KIRAKIRA!!" they were; they got the fans to wave the kirakira side (then, "stop!") and -- it was pretty cool. |D Except, I was totally waving the face side of Karen's uchiwa, laaawl. *idiot* <-only realised a bit later.

There was a full-on press conference in the middle of the concert. o_o Which was pretty special. Understandable, since it was NewS' first time performing at the Dome (biggest venue in Japan :x) and also the first time a Johnny's group had done a weekday concert there?? <-apparently? 8D

Anyway, Shige and Tegoshi had caligraphy boards with what they want to become, now that they're adults, written on them. :3 Shige's was like, "More like a man." --otoko rashii? xD Lawl. gigantic 男 character. Then Massu (standing to Shige's left) was like, "Oh, you mean like the guy to your left? ;DD" ...and the camera zoomed in on Ryo's face (to Massu's left). xD;; And Ryo grinned at, and Massu was like, "Wtf, why'd you show him?! T_T I MEANT ME." ...poor kid. xD;;;

They talked about what they wanted to be when they grew up (from when they were kids) -- apparently Pi wanted to be an astronaut. 8D; And Massu is living out his dream of performing and singing and stuff. :D :D

Speaking of Massu-- when they all filed up onto the stage for the conference, the camera panned across them; Ryo first, since he was rightmost. He made this kissyface at Massu. And then Massu freaking leaned in and made kissyface right back. xD;; And then Ryo like, kept doing it, and possibly licked Massu's cheek and then Massu was like all "O_O ...aahaha. D8; 8D;;" at the camera, in that way he does. xD;;

And then during the press interviews, the lady was like, "So, what was that kissything about before?" and then Ryo was like, embarrassed. "<<;; Ignore these two idiots." <-gesture to Massu and himself. Hurhur.

I was sort of sad they didn't do Boom! Boom! POWER, since the green lasershows always remind me of that song. xD;; But SPEAKING OF LAZORSHOWZ. 8D;; Near the end, a curtain of water shot up from the stage, and some of the demented smiley face logos were projected onto it, and it looked pretty cool. 8D

Uh. xD; Just like the Akuma Attack: in which, about midway through the concert, the lights that were playing on the roof were smiley faces and hearts and crap. xD;; It looked like the Dome was getting eaten by alien viruses, srsly.

After the concert, we queued up again (at the front), and I bought a group live photoset. xD; (Given that before the concert, we'd queued up (at the back) to get the Ryo clearfile -- and I got a notebook (for sister), penlight, t-shirt, and... yeah. :x Already bought clearfiles and Shige's nonlive photoset from when the tour was in Osaka. >>; Harhar.) The security guards at the turning point (hairpin bend in queue) were like, "DOU SHIMASU? D8" because they were like, getting crushed. :| Poor guys. Probably burning Yamapi at the stake in their sleep, hurhur.

Anyway. :D; Went to the McDonald's by the station, intending to allnighter there, but it was chockers, and besides, there was no seating place. xD;; So trundled about the dome area for a bit. Took a few more photos. Went to a nearby courtyard-next-to-a-shopping-centre, and sorted out our bags. (Full. T_T; Very full.) Went back to Maccas. Found another Maccas around the corner, on the trainstation map. \8D/

Went there instead, and pulled aforementioned allnighter. :x Entertained selves with the idol magazines I bought/brought. xD;; And I sort of took a shining to OSSaN -- Oota Hiroaki, in particular. :x (Speaking of which, the main backup dancers for NewS were Kis-My-Ft2. LAWL. Kiss my FOOT. TWO. They sang/danced/headthrashed Fire Beat. Which was tres amusant. xD;)

There is no Shitenhouji here, but there is a Shitennouji a stone's throw away (it's actually in Tennouji, not Naniwa, but shh), with its famous Buddhist temple ~~where Gin was raised~~.

Sure sign I've caught a muse alright is when I draw them, I suppose. :D; Aha. ~~Ryoma excluded <3 And Yagyuu, because eiwglasses... xD;~~ New boy on the block.

His mother was skilled in the traditional arts. Flower arrangement. Dance. Kimono – making and wearing.

Her specialty was festival style. Renji and his older sister had grown up surrounded by swathes of brilliant colour and gala prints. (The housework was hers, and thus: the house was also hers in which to work, was the reasoning.)

But his favourite colour was white.

Not a sterile, laboratory type of white, but the soft, worn-in white of a twice-read book – or perhaps the right kind of eggshell. It was easier on the eyes, and his got easily tired. (His mother didn't make white kimono though, because they were mostly for weddings, or wearing underneath. But Renji didn't mind. That was just how things were.)

His sister always took special care to ~~pester their mother and~~ dress them up, during festival season, when they were younger. Renji was indifferent to wearing special outfits, or having his hair pulled and done up like a girl's; but he did like the chance to smile and not feel like anybody was watching him.

The last time it happened was the New Year's when he was seven. His sister started high school soon after that, and lost her time for him. But that was okay. That was just how things were.

Elementary school meant sports in the sun anyway, with other boys his age. Always competitive no matter the field, Renji played hard and acquired bruises and tan lines, and lost the pretty porcelain skin that made photos look good.

His mother stopped bothering to dress him up too much after that, too. But that didn't mean she cut his hair any shorter...
